Hi, since today's morning I'm getting e-mails like "Jim Davis is now following you on Twitter!". I have about 50 regular followers, but in 24 hours about 100 another is still starting to follow me. I'm reporting them as a spam, because they are (see http://twitter.com/JimD_Marketing). I sent them message asking where did they find link to my profile, but without response. I'm blocking and reporting them as a spam, but new ones are still coming. Any advices? Thanks
Is there any real reason to get rid of them? Having excess followers doesn't really pose any problems that I know of.
Agreed! It can also make your Twitter account look good by having lots of followers while giving you opportunities to make money from it, My advice to you, is to keep them following you. You don't really have to follow them back, to view their tweets.
This is the dumbest thread ever. Should celebrities report people for watching their movies? You can't help who finds your content / profile interesting. If you had to reciprocate in some way then yes, it would be annoying but you don't have to alter anything on your end.
The more followers the better, so I don´t know what you are getting worried about. I would be very happy to get 100 followers a day.
I was worried about reputation of my account if 90% of my followers are fake accounts filled with spam.
I know this isn't the ultimate solution, but you could change your twitter preferences to not alert you anymore on each new follower...
i think it is no pb to let other follow u. just keep them there and dont follow them back is ok. 100% if they are spam they will not follow u in a few day later
