What do you guys usually do if you have acne? Does soap and water usually work - or did you use an acne cream to get rid of it? I have some acne and I was wondering what's the best way to get rid of it.

Benzol peroxide cream tends to work. There are other treatments such as proactive OR you can talk to the pros and the Body Shop ;) (if you want to do it the naturally way)

if you're female, and on the pill then that might help, if you're a guy, then watch your Dr's face when you ask for the pill.

It depends how bad it is. For mild cases (probably what you've got) just make sure you regularly wash with soap and water and you can try a cleansing wash containing benzoyl peroxide. Serious cases, with lots of redness or open pustules, can be treated by oral broad-spectrum antibiotics - something like the tetracycline family.

It's benzoyl peroxide and I wouldn't go for a cream because they can be greasy. Get a solution instead (there's a proprietary called Clearasil) - costs maybe $8 for a small bottle.

Warm water, tea tree oil, and a good diet are all you need.

Any other "product" is making money out of you.

What about lotion? That doesn't help?

Just avoid creams - consider all the extra nasties they put in to make it creamy. A thin lotion should be okay.

I have struggled with acne and I find exfoliating (scrubbing the dead skin cells) really helps. They sell these exfoliating gloves at the grocery store that are rough and I use them every night in the shower to clean my face, chest, and back. I also try to keep from putting my hands on my face. I sit at a computer all day long, and I have a tendency to rest my head in my hands from time to time and that's where I break out the worst. And don't go to bed with any makeup on!!!
