    That's the way to do it ..if you can get links where ever your competiton has them.
    and then go beyond your competition with .Gov and .EDU forums/blog posts with Do-follows

    I would recommend starting the first month with mining all .GOV and .EDU sites first as they're given highest Google rep score (right-click them to check for rel="dofollow" Most of them are still allowing dofollow. and then use these algorithm tools I developed to mine exactly what you want out of google.

    Replace "keyword" with your keyword (Example "computer sales" or "borchures")

    // Government and Edu (colleges)
    site:.edu inurl:blog "keyword"
    site:.gov inurl:blog "keyword"

    // Blogs and Forums with your keyword
    inurl:blog "keyword"
    inurl:forum "keyword"

    // Find any sites that allow comments. These tend to be high .org sites(with your keyword being relevant in blog)
    Keyword "Remember my personal information" "Notify me of follow-up comments"

    While it's true that you need to have more backlinks than your competitor, it's not always the case. Quality and relevance weight much more as far as page rank is concerned these days, so if your links have higher quality and more relevance to your target keywords compared to your competitor's links then you have better chances of ranking higher for your target keyword.

    Your site itself, and its contents, as well as your traffic contributes to page rank. Those are the same things you look at your competitor's site too.

    Hope that helps. Have a good day!

    You should just install the wp theme on the URL instead. It will be cleaner that way.
