Don't focus too much on directory submissions... that worked in 1990's but it doesn't work anymore. Build unique content and get it out to people via social media sites. Quality inbound links with relevant and keyword rich anchor text to your unique content will help much more than directory submissions.
You've got to have a lot of links to reach PR5. But one question, why do you need PR5 if that isn't going to bring you in money? I'd prefer to have a PR 0 but earn money with it.
Directories alone won't help, you need to have a number of other things in mind, especially given the fact that directories with high ranks are very slow to approve your submissions (take DMOZ, for instance...)
This is a daft question by the OP Get with the program, all you have to do is read a few posts on DP and you will discover how to boost your PR, but like others have said, don't get fixated on it.
As you're after PR, try to get quality links from other websites also to support your back links from directories. That's the way you can get a high PR. And make sure you get quality and unique content that is regularly updated.
Absolutely not true that you can't got PR after the first update with a new site. I got a PR 3 for 2 of my new site after the first update without link building too much.
I submitted a fresh site to all the directories here: http://www.directorytally.com/ It got to PR3 in the next update. However, to get PR5 you will need to get more weighty links. Perhaps from blogs?
What do you mean? The PageRank is based on the number & quality of your backlinks. P.S.: what happened with mikey1090?
Getting a PR3 is pretty easy. I've launched new sites and at first update obtained PR3. The only thing I did was get 2-5 links from PR3 and PR4 sites. I really don't think directories are the way to go anymore.
