    Hey there.
I'm running a website in gaming fields and I was wondering if advertising on social media is a good way to go?
Is there such a thing as having a good/positive background on social media?
Do people search on social media and check the domain's background before trusting it?

Social media is vital nowadays! If you build a solid fan base on, lets say IG, that fan base will pour to your website.
This is why every website, YouTube channel, company... Has some kind of social media accounts.
As a plus sign, it's always good to build a strong relationship with your audience.

    Hi

    From a Blog

Social media background screening can sound scary. Often times, when asked what we do for a living, those of us who work at Social Intelligence hear a sheepish “Ohhhh wow! Don’t look at my accounts!” We chuckle and try to give a quick explanation of what we do because we get it, on the surface, it sounds like a George Orwell novel. Rest assured, these are things we think about and have responded to over the better part of a decade. In fact, we use this blog to deliver info that is both informative and eye-opening. We’ve been pretty successful at educating employers about what they need to know regarding the legality of social media as a background tool. From a consumer perspective, however, we strongly feel you should know your privacy rights when it comes to background screening, especially within the intersection of it with your online life.

In my opinion, at first people will not trust the domain, but if your ads appear again and again before them, then they start trusting.
    Its something subconscious.

Hello, running ads isn't a bad idea but you have to think about whether the cost (advertising cost) is worth the effort (returns on the advertising).

How much do you expect to earn from each conversion?
