You can get links from forum as well where you would have pr 5,6 links if you search within a forum. Some pages of forum gains more pr than home page! And easily you can post signature on that!

I think you will find it hard to get free permanent links from pr5-pr9 sites. High PR sites are not going to give you a link for nothing. Try approaching them with some article you have written and ask if they will publish it on there site, and include your site address link in the article. Good luck.

 

I don't think it looks "bad" to Google. I just don't think it looks as good as contextual links that actually apply to the subject of the link.

 

You can take those kind of backlinks making comments on blogs or profile links in high PR forums.

I think that's a great work to out this list together, thanks for sharing. I only have one concern that the PR you're talking about is the forum homepage PR, but the actual post most of the times doesn't have a rank!

You can have them only through forums, so look for a forum that have a high PR on home page then start a good descussion or find a popular descussion and post a reply.

You can also have a link from high PR social media but it require some work from your side like bookmarking the page that have your link and share it on forums to build some traffic to it.

Sorry for the question. Why do you need PR? Get visitors, get audience, make the forum popular. Don't care about the PR and what a surprise one day you will find that your PR is 4 or even 5. Good luck, friend!

Try to find as much info about promoting forums as you can. But indeed you don't need to care about PR or SEO. Not in this case.

 

It is not easy to blog commenting and forum linking are not working anymore. Experienced guys know about them and how can use them.. Strong ON site SEO can beat thousands of backlinks.

PR not important for SERP but it is important when your going to sell links or entire site.
