How to get people to visit your old post!

One of the questions people repeatedly ask me is how to get people’s attention back to old content. Truly, this is one of the most infuriating problems faced by bloggers these days. They work hard to develop their blog
and write useful content, and end up having heaps of archives, which no one really reads. People don’t really bother exploring archives of a blog, new entry is all they read.

So can you explain what are tips that you can follow.

 

I use a list containing related posts.

 

spin the old post or create an new entry and link the old ones

 

I refer back to them complete with snippets and links.

 

When you make comments on some blogs include those pages, that's one way of getting visitors to your old pages.

 

Create new posts and then post a link to your previous post. This will reader get read your old posts as well as new posts.

 

I think the older blog posts are indexed and have more backlinks, so they show up more frequently in search engine results.

You can also use labels to link all related posts together.

 

I think creating new interesting posts related to old posts with link to old post can work well

 

You can use tags or have a menu with the 10 most read blog posts on there.

 

The most effective method for me is share an article on Twitter and Facebook. If you get noticed it's good, you'll be retweeted and will get some traffic.

 

To make people read the old posts you can do multiple things like:

Add related posts
Add popular posts
Interlink your blog posts
Display random posts.

all the suggestions are good. and also you can create a "random posts" part on homepage.

 

Write article and point to old post permalink. Also when you write new post, always mentioned the old post by means of clickable text link.

 

I use related posts and random posts plugin. the plugis lists old posts too. So, the people will check the old posts if they are interested.
