How to get people to upload videos?

As I complete my work-in-progress video site, I'm looking for ideas on how to get people to upload videos there. And ideas on where to concentrate my marketing to attract video content contributors. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

 

Who's your target demographic? I'd have trouble telling you anything about marketing without knowing who you're marketing to.

Hi! Try to create vivid and expressive titles to your files - they can cause the interest of the consumers.

 

Have you considered accepting submissions from TubeMogul? That may be a quick way to build content.

 

Run contests for the coolest uploads about a certain topic or whatever. Best video uploaded wins something.

I agree with MTbiker's opinion. Give awards, make contests, give "freebies" etc... That will surely make people upload videos

 

Video competitions, someone uploads the funniest video or something like that reward them with a cash prize. Thats what break.com did to get big.

Other then that you have to reach a certain niche. It would be hard to just jump in the game unless you find a certain people you want to aim towards. If it's gamers or so on you'd have to get that group to post videos by leading by example.
