How To Get People To Join My Forum?

Hey guys, I own this site (listendog.com) and it is one month old and there is a forum. I am new with the internet business so I was wondering if any of you guys could give me some tips on how to get people to join my forum: www.listendog.com/forum/ as when most people go on, they browse it and look at most of the forum posts, so when I make a post in about a day or two, it already has 20 views but nobody joins or posts anything. Can you guys give me any tips to make my visitors join?

You need to invest some money to hire the forum posters.

 

Oh, I forgot to say, I do not want to use and money wasting techniques, my website is non profit right now, so I dont want to spend what I wont earn back - thanks for the tip though.

A tiny Made for Adsense site is NOT going to generate enough visitors to get it out of the graveyard!!!

Make up fake user ID to start and do yourself alot of postings so it will not look empty. I don,t have a dog so it,s not helpful for me.

 

do like i did..i own a mafi game i give 30k Reserves to any player Registre in my forum and also i give 50k Reserves evry week to the most poster...

 

So like kind of bribe them, so for me maby like if they join, they can preview the article before others?

and get rid of all the zeros. You need visitors first and then a forum, or a reason for them to post. For example, the DigitalPoint forums were originally made for support for the tools, got quite populer, and now it's one of the top webmaster forums, where less than 1% of the threads made have anything to do with support!!

 

Give some free stuff or competition to encourage joining the forum.

Make a Q&A thread, post a few common questions and answers. Then ask visitors in the thread to feel free to ask dog related questions and get them answered by you or others.

 

The only way to kick start your forum is to hire some forum posters in the beginning and increase the activity and once traffic picks up by popularity, it can stand on its own. Let the existence of your forum known to others...

 

It would be very difficult without wanting to spend money and providing incentive for people to join and participate in the forum. I would think that contest or points system which can be exchange with dog products would be a good way to attract people.

 

make free Programs and Music In the Forum..i bought a lot of Templates and sharing them in my Forum with memebers
but only Registred can download...

 

You need to drive more traffic to your forum.

 

Thanks guys, mosty are helpful, but some (like the above: You need to drive more traffic to your forum.) are useless as it doesnt help, of course if I drice mor epeople to it more will join but how can I do it efficiently.
