How to get people to come to my foum?

I made a forum and I was just wondering how to get people to come. I don't want to spend a lot on PPC or anything because then if the forum crashes, then its just a waste of money...Any ideas?

 

I think you should not use *.co.cc domain. This sub-domain has been blocked on few search engines. Use domain *.info (just $0.99 from GoDaddy) make your forum looks professional (like my forum on www.KuraBrazil.info). Use vBulletin, phpBB, or MyBB make you can easily modified/using any mods to your forum. Don't forget that you register your forum on search engiine submission like submit-express.com to make sure that your forum has been indexed by webcrawler.

For the contents, use interested title and good content that can make people want to visit and join to your forum. Sorry if my english so bad..

 

according your domain it's cc,... my suggest get some contest that user can winning some price,..

 

i wouldnt buy a .info...i think that would be worse than co.cc....but i guess ill just buy a .com or .net domain...and i use phpbb right now...and i have mods. i have also submitted it to search engines...and what do you mean make it look professional? I don't really see how its not professional....

 

Okay since internetforum and internet-forum are taken for .net and .com, I need a new name for my forum. I have no users, so i can make a new domain as w/e i want....but i have no good domains....any ideas for a forum that relates to everything on the internet?

Keep on participating in a webmaster forums then be active so that they'll notice your link signature and will try to join your forums.. Also a good reputation to yourself is a good way to encourage them to join!

 

submitting to search engines & keeping an intereting topic should get you subscribers.

 

First, buy a real domain. Better chance at it getting indexed in Google. Actually, I don't even think Google indexes those extensions.

 

Get a dot com.. Even a dot info from my experience does not give you a brand to build on. If you put some money in, thats the only way to make it a brand and in the end get some money out.

I bought a .com domain and its the new one in my sig...But that's not gonna make visitors come though...I still need ideas...

 

Greg, you already have an idea you just have to make it work.

Using what advice people give you will be the best idea you could have.

1) Submit to directories
2) Promotion via link exchange and link purchasing on other related sites.
3) Content.

Ive told you about all 3, but it doesn't appear you have taken the advice.

Content is key, without content no one will stop and join your forum, at the moment your forum is empty, add content and start some interesting topics.
