How To Get Paid

I am building a web site that will ease the connection between professionals in the used car industry, for potential seller and potential buyer located in different countries to get in touch.

1/ The potential buyer ask for a type of car and define the maximum price of the car.

2/ Potential sellers can respond to the buyer with an offer.

3/ The buyer will select the better offer, get the seller contact information and contact the seller.

This concept is tested and there is already interested buyers and sellers.

My problem is how to get paid for this service.

I cannot put a registration fee yet because the site is brand new and, even if looks ok, I don't have any proof that it will work.

I didn't find a way to put a fee on sale basis, because it will be difficult to monitor if the sale happens or not.

    I couldn't find a viable solution.

    Any help will be welcome.

    Thanks a lot in advance.

I would still go with registration fee, because it DOES work, right? Unless it's a scam, you have nothing to worry about.

Feel free to throw me a PM if you're in need of marketing.

Most membership sites have one side pay for registration. Basically, if the sellers have a hard time finding buyers, then you make the sellers pay. If it's the other way around, then you make the buyer pay. If neither side has any trouble finding themselves, then perhaps your business is not good.

Why not consider advertising? You can sell ad spots on the site, but you'll have to wait some time until the site picks up. In my experience, a registration fee will only put people off unless there are proven results. Just my two cents..

Why not start the website in "Beta" and have all of the listings free? Then once the website starts to gain some traction and you have ample amount of buyers and sellers you can switch it over to a paid version. Make it a few bucks to post a listing.

With a site like this you have to offer it for free first of all until you get enough people signing up. Just like facebook was free and not making any money to begin with. Monetizing it came after it was successful. People will be put off if you charge from day 1. But offer it for free and prove to them that it works and they'll be happy to pay. Everyone is willing to pay for something that has value to them. You could also keep it free and monetize with adverts.

I once read about a guy that paid $30K per month for car data, then offered it for free on his website. His site was an almost instant hit, and car companies started calling him offering $100K per month to be the lead sponsor.

Previously a competitor (who also paid $30K for the data), charged for the info in a sort of membership site. His business collapsed.

The free model worked because hundreds of thousands of people got car data for free, and car companies wanted to advertise to these people. So the business model worked for everyone. Maybe you could consider something similar.
