    Constantly posting in this forum can help your pagerank if you have a signature. That doesn't mean you should only post in this forum to build up your pagerank, but you need to try other methods as well. Post in other forums, commenting in blogs, social networking well also help. Don't just stick to one method. Your link should be keyword rich, for instance, if your site is about how to drive a car, your anchor link should be "How to drive a car".

    Exactly... Google is updating your 'real' PR constantly... The toolbar PR is just a mapping of your real PR from some point in the past... a snapshot of what your PR was at some point in the past... NOT now. By the time Google updates your toolbar PR it is already weeks out of date.

    I would focus more on getting good rankings and not worry about PR. PR won't make you rank at Google for a particular search term.

    Having a PR8 site that doesn't rank well for any of your relevant search term is absolutely worthless... unless of course you're selling links to other sites who somehow are stupid enough to think that PR somehow helps them from an SEO perspective. It's only 1 of 200+ ranking factors in Google's ranking algorithm and carries almost no weight in how you rank for a keyword phrase.

    PR is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overrated.

    I believe that PR is overrated also. I mean I seen sites that have high rankings such as 20k to 30k, and they have PR of 2 or 3, doesnt mean its a bad site, just means that the PR is alittle low. Then on the flipside you see a facebook or a google, it has a number one ranked and 9 or 10 PR, because its worldwide.

    Just curious, when did Google start updating PR three times a year? It's been every three months or so for a while now...

    1. update your site regularly.
    2. get backlinks from older domains
    3. submit your site to high page rank sites.
    4. participate in social media.
