    I can suggest putting some links on wikipedia, although it is hard to do and maintain, cause you should have credibility before putting your link, but if you managed to do that, you will receive some of the wiki love

    I use Market Samurai to find who is backlinking to some of my competitors and then try to get back links from them as well. You can get quality back links this way.

    Yes it they have page rank too. Try to find some .edu and .gov sites which are authority sites which Google likes. I have seen crappy websites with good pagerank because they went out and got lots of backlinks.

    forums posting is an excellent way for building back links. But don't post your URL directly in the discussion boards or else the spam busters would get you banned and removed from the forum. The best way to do it is through your signature. Include the URL of your site in your signature and then whenever you post a comment in the forum you will be leaving behind a link to your site along with your name.

You can check sites on pligg, all rating sites similar to a social bookmarking sites, give your website for reviews in forums , that can generate lot of one way links, Overall just concentrate on high pr theme related links your pages will rank well in search engines.

    You can also drop you links into a huge range of sites that allow you to become a member, and have the do follow for links in the profile section turned on, Rotten Tomatoes site is an example.
