How to get non-organic (Non SE) traffic?

Hi,

well other than article submission what are the ways of getting non-organic traffic ? I don't think so that directory submission is of any help. How about banner exchange ? can they be effective ? What are they social networking site where I should look to promote my site ?

depends on sites, some are so useful that people just bookmark and return without any search engine

 

And if your site is useful and short, they can type directly to the browser

 

Apart from article submission you can also try advertising in small newspapers, magazines (depends what do they charge). and banner exchange can help a bit...

i saw one thread here where the person was using myspace and in his profile he pasted the image of a lady (HOT) and gave the link to the website too and that has attracted a good amount of traffic indeed... as far as i see there is no use following the same trick untill and unless you want to get some money from adsense or some other paid advert.

Paid advertising on high traffic sites within the same niche would be the obvious one that I've had success with.

 

Here are some ideas:

* Trade links with sites in your niche
* hand out business cards with your web site on them
* get people to sign up for your email newsletter (in real life and online)
* make useful comments on other blogs with your web site signature
* install an email tell-a-friend feature on your web site

Matt, my problem is I have content sites and I am only relying on adsense for revenues so with this approach it will be really difficult for me to make any money.

 

buy a link to a website with GOOD TRAFFIC!
