How to get my WP blog indexed in Google?

Though I have been using WP for more than 5 years, I never tried anything on SEO. But now, as I have been trying some IM, I need some of my blogs to be listed in Search engines in a better way so that I can have some business.

What I need know is how to make my blog have a top rank for 3 keywords. [Sorry but I'm not a tech guru to some programming or so...]

Can anyone answer in some simple terms [in normal English pls

build ur sitemap using google xml sitemap and submit to google, build high pr quality backlinks, and ur site will index min 1 or 2 days and max 7-10 days.

 

Sorry for disturbing but can you please tell me what is google xml sitemap and high pr quality backlinks?

Do they need any programming knowledge?

This is all I do too. Once you instill this practice you should never worry yourself about indexing again.

 

Adbox is right. My new blog is just two weeks old and was indexed in 9 days. I write a fresh post every day, do some quality forum posting and 'bam'-indexed. Google indexes blogs rather quickly.

Although WP is very friendly to seo, but you have to master some basic knowledge of seo, for example, the meta tags, <h1>,<h2>.......<h6> tags, and so on. Besides, wordpress provides us with a lot of plugins, they are very useful when you want your blog to rank well on google.
