How to get multiple Ip's? Or does it even really matter?

    I want to create a bunch of BS sites with unique articles about my niche, and then throw links on them pointing to my main site. But does it really matter if I have say, 20 domains, all with the same IP? Will the links then not be as high quality?

    I wish there were free hosting services that would allow you to use your own domain, in exchange they could put adsense on your pages. =\

    I read somewhere that when google bot looks for backlinks, it doesnt count backlinks from sites on the same IP address or even the same class c (i.e. if your IP is 55.66.77.88, google would ignore 55.66.*.*) Again, I am not sure if that is correct as I read it somewhere and dont have the source handy.

    It would make sense for google to do this though. I think google also treats subdomains as different sites. Because of this, any joe could setup a few thousand subdomains on the same server and link them all back to 1 page to get backlinks.This makes me assume that google does look at the IP of the backlink before considering it legit.

    It's an interesting thought, but unless someone comes with solid proofs from several experiments, or Matt Cutts confirms it, it's just a theory.

    Or, it wouldn't make sense for Google to do it, because that could adversely affect white-hat guys that don't have static IPs, if I understand it correctly.
