Here are some tips to improve your twitter network: 1] Add your twitter username as your signature when ever you send out an email. Especially when you are posting on a yahoo mailing list or Google groups. 2] Join groups on facebook where you can get followers to your account 3] Add your twitter username to your website or blog. 4] On twitter there is an option where you can copy and paste your twitter updates to your website. So when ever you update your twitter status - automatically it will show up on your website or blog. 5] Find forum threads on the web where you can post your twitter username and get followers, such as this thread: 6] Make it a habit that when someone follows you - follow them in return. Other 'tweeple' will see this and they will follow you as well. 7] Add your twitter username to every profile you have on social networks. 8] Join networks on ning.com that are focused on twitter followers. 9] Start your own thread on related internet forums. 10] Where ever you are marketing your website - add your twitter username with it. 11] Retweet most poular twitter topics, use tweetmeme.com and contacted.org tools 12] Throw as much as possible "how to" tweets Good luck hunting twitter followers .
I just tried Twitter for 3 days (a few minutes daily) and I had over 450 followers. I am not sure if its that hard to get more followers. I just used to follow others and they used to follow me.

content matter and following others is important and retweeting, its been a week and i have got 831 followers with me following 784 people (its todays stats) unfollowed those who were not following me, its not that hard to get followers main thing is talk to them, atleast to whom it matters too, if you dont update or just keep updating what you are doing forget about it

following users with less follower and not interesting content is not a good idea follow people with good followers and yeah be active on followfriday, if you even Retweet other its beneficial.
I'm leery of all the "get more followers" programs. I don't know who's legit. There all over out there! I've just been following others. It's pretty easy. I started just a short while ago and I'm already at 450. If there's a collective agreement on who to trust with regard to a "program" that works, I'll join, but I'm seeing Twitter delete accounts right and left so I'd rather take it slow in the beginning rather than risk doing something they don't like.
