Hi everyone! I am a moderator on a Facebook page and I was hoping to find some tips on how to increase the number of likes we get. Right now we use the page mostly for sharing articles written on our blog. Does anyone have any tips on how to get more likes? Or how to get more people commenting on our page? Any ideas are greatly appreciated! Thanks!

@JPlatt - there are any number of things you can do right now to get more likes - and buying likes isn't really one of them (and I don't understand why you would want to, unless you just want a big number where the likes are). 1. As danilion55 said, invest 10 Euros a day in Facebook ads - you can get lots of likes very quickly that way, if you target your ad correctly - and even some business. 2. Use a Welcome page - something along the lines of 'Click Like to learn the 5 secrets of a good sale'. Use Static iFrame or a similar free app to make the tab. Make sure that tab is the default landing tab, not your wall. 3. I would also add your website link to the 'About' text that you can see on the left hand side. Don't make me click the info and hunt for it there 4. Add your website to your Facebook Page as well - use the MyWebees app to do that, it's free. (disclosure, I work at MyWebees).
There are many reasons why people will 'like' your page and understanding all of them will help your overall efforts in getting them. The most popular is what we refer to as the "Shameless Bribe". Give people a reason to like your page, like a discount coupon, a free report or anything that fits your business model. The other thing I would recommend (and the one that is the easiest, but most often overlooked).... ask people to like your page. A good way is on the bottom of all your blog posts, say something like, "Like what I shared, please show your support and Like us on Facebook".. ("Like us on Facebook" being a hyperlink to your facebook page.) Hope that helps!
@JPlatt you just need to connect with the people who are interested in things you are doing, then definitely if you publish interesting thing of your field then you will get good no. of likes and comments naturally.... Sharing here my personal experience, i was adding my bike stunt photos on fb but was not getting likes and clicks. Then after I added my stunting photo as a profile pic then I started adding people of famous stunt groups and stunt shows, they liked adding me on facebook. Not just that but now I am getting excellent comments for each of my new stunts... One more example, here on digital point you have added your query and we people of the same interest have added comments... so you need to connect with correct people, that's it.
Have banners or links over your page I think is the best thing, and get people to share the link around on their fb pages.
if you want to do it without cashout you can promote it to your friends on Facebook and have them like it. then you should be able to put up several high quality content that the likers are SURELY to be attracted to. then you can go to lengths like customizing your landing page using static FBML codes. you can learn that through developers.facebook.com. this is actually better if you want a high value audience who are most likely to buy from your websites (if you have one)
