I'm getting good traffic. I'm just not getting many comments and I've tried everything! I've read a lot of e-books, and talked to a lot of people as well and I've done everything they say... I have even made posts in my link 'follow' so why is it that I'm not getting almost any comments?! I even held a contest in which 17 people participated, 10 won and didn't even bother to post a simple thank you.... only one person did. So does anyone have any tips on how to get more comments? Thanks. My website is www.thegermz.com btw.
Well, duh. Yet some still hang on to this "method" of bringing people in, and getting them to post. I'm sorry, but it is a piss-poor way to do it. Amateurs think it is a good method. The fact is, they take their "winnings" and keep on walking. Not including the ones who have signed up, because most don't come back, how many have signed in? According to the board, on average, around 10% (if that) of the ones who sign in will post. What's your board about?
I didn't really do it to get comments, I just did it to help people. I just posted that because people are not posting. My website is www.thegermz.com
I feel like your blog is missing a personal touch. I don't know if it's the theme or the short blog posts. Also, I don't feel (at this moment) there would be a reason for me to bookmark your blog and come back. Take a look at problogger.net and some of the bigger blogs. For some reason, they do something that make you want to bookmark their blogs and come back.
make quality content or sensational thing.submite to digg or other social boorkmark.ppl will interesting to give comment
make your article "discuss-able" Like if you can create some hot topic like "MSN brought yahoo" I am sure you not only get traffic, comment but lots of digg
That's the key, next to content... With good content, people will enjoy reading it, but it's not just about content if you are seeking comments, it's about making the entry something people WANT to talk about. I could honestly care less about contests, or whether or not a comment is no-follow or not... I care about what is said and whether or not I can add to it, or want to add to it.
I was having the same problem, and then i instituted "comment fridays" and it seemed to work out well. Try something along those lines.
