All the tips are useful, but I am confused why we need to ping daily our website. Its good to ping a blog after updating it.

and to receive traffic from search engine you need to be on google first page
and to be on google first page you need backlinks

but before you do all this you need to research on your keywords and niche.
a wrong selection will not give good results.

you have your site/blog, now you need to bring visitors who are interested in your niche/product/content
they wil not reach you you have to reach them through search engine or social networking sites

i use bookmarking sites for building backlinks and traffic from bookmarking sites has never been useful for me.
