How To Get Massive Members To My Yahoo groups

I have been using yahoo group for about 3 years now.

Most of my groups have anywhere from 300 - 700 members.

I came across this group that was created like 3 months ago and has like 60,000 members already.

I promote my groups in other groups and such and all the noraml ways.

But how in the world does someone get that many members in such a short period of time.

They must have some program they use to be able to post to hundreds of groups at a time or something.

Anyone have any tips or suggestions please do tell!

    Thanks,

    Trevor

Almost sounds like they already had a pre-existing site where the members were already active, and then they branced into yahoo groups? I've always wondered what the % of people who use yahoo groups also belong to message forums on private domains.

I mean, I know that posting to other large groups and lots of them is how it is done, but there has to be a way to post to several groups at a time, I dont mean like 40 or 50 but I am talking like 500+ groups at a time.

    Any suggestions?

Currently using yahoo email you can only post to 50 groups at a time, and you can't post too many times a day or yahoo will shit your account down.

But all the time I see these groups that are not very old with like 50,000+ members.

So I know there has to be a way to post to more groups, we just need to figure out how and what to use!

    Thanks.

Why do you think it came from other groups? I can just mass email my forum members tonight asking them to join some yahoo group and have 1000 or so registrations the next day.

If you have time you can sit in some chatroom 24/7 and PM people one by one. Im sure you can get 50k in a few weeks...

Just because they have 50k members, does not mean they were spamming other groups.

Its just like anything else. Give people a reason to sign up and they well. Advertising works after all.

Whats your group about? How big n fast yor group depends on what type of group it is.

It is not possible to post on hundreds of groups...unless you spoof email address of someone who is a member of all those groups.

You will have to individually join all of them. You have to send a subscribe mail to each group.

    Hi Sachin,

I know I have been doing that a while with the groups, I was just wondering if there was an easier way to reach more people.

Currently I own and run about 200 Yahoo Groups.

We are posting 5,000 groups 3 times a day.

5000 groups and 3 times ...You are spamming :)

But this type pf spamming rarely works. All those 5000 groups must have become full of spam now. All new users who join would leave in 1-2 days maximum. The thing is all your mails must be going into junk mail box of members by now.

Better option would be to get a SEO done for your site.

I checked your site. Your make money page is violating the TOS...

    1. There is no content.
    2. You have used four ad boxes...limit is 3.

I had started a yahoo group about three months ago for "Gay Erotic Stories for Men". I was first listed in the the non-adult category under "literature". In my first THREE WEEKS I gained several thousand new members. Then one of my group members posted a nude pic of himself and I got an adult classification. Once that happened my membership has frozen solid and then actually dropped about ten members a day. The conclusion I have come to is that if your group is listed as ADULT it is DROPPED from the groups search feature. When I was Non-adult I was number #7 for gay erotic stories. Now that I am classified as adult when I do a yahoo groups search I am NOT even listed what-so-ever. Just my experience I hope this helps.
