    Become an editor!

Failing that, the ONLY real solution is to simply "submit & forget" OR in many cases "forget 2 submit" as in some/most categories the wait time is exactly the same for submitting/not submitting.

you have to have clean, 0 errors in your web code.it has to be a top level domain. if you want to be an editor, you have to have good writing skills and understand what you're doing on there. they won't accept you once they see that you will promote websites. they also see how much time you spend on reading rules when you apply for an editor. remember it's Googles directory.

Just make sure you followed all there guidelines when submitting your website. Check back once a month on the dmoz site to see if your website appears. Don't get your hopes up, submitting to dmoz does not guarentee it'll be approved even if that one category has a fairly active editor.

I look for regular quality web directories to submit to besides dmoz.

Because i was bored and decided to write that in my reply. To many people think getting approved into dmoz will increase there traffic or rankings and dmoz is just another directory to me. Icould care less about dmoz and rather submit to a few high quality paid directories that will give me a better chance of getting approved. At least i'll get a email if my site was rejected though. :)

I think DMOZ Directory have the busiest editors and approval query for all the directory submission in the world online.
The chances of being queued in their approval list is like 1 in a million chance especially if you have too many competitors with your website niche who also
    submitted their own qualified contents.
So I agree with the idea that wen you do DMOZ, you "submit and forget". Waiting for the inclusion is a waste of time.

I have never understaood this obsession so many have with DMOZ. They not there to service webmasters SEO needs.

You submit once and move on. Anything else is counterproductive. What happens next:

    1) Your site gets listed --> life goes on and there is nothing more you can do
    2) Your site is still waiting to be reviewed --> life goes on and there is nothing more you can do
    3) Your site is moved to another category --> life goes on and there is nothing more you can do
    4) Your site is rejceted --> life goes on and there is nothing more you can do

Whats with the obsession of wanting to know. How will getting an email change your life. What will you do differently when you get an email?
