I run a wallpaper website and I am thinking about including the images into the Google images. How can I optimize my wallpaper website to allow searchers finding my images from the Google images?
What I did was add alt and title attributes to all of my images, full of rich and targeted keywords related to the image AND my site. Now whenever I type in the name of my site or the type of image into Google's results, many images from my website are in the top pages. I think the alt and title tags have a lot to do with it, but not everything. It's definitely a good starting point.
name image names with keywords. use helping texts for images and use keywords for them. also include keywords in your webpage text
Some text descriptions under the image can help too, just don't stuff with too many keywords. You can also put your url on images so viewers could see your site on the images.
Adding the Alt attributes or tags to the images can be really helpful and if you can manage to rename the pictures that is also good.
My experience show me that you need to use good keywords on alt and title of the image. Also put the keywords close to the the image.
I have found that when people hotlink to my images those images also tend to show up more often in Google Images.
