Make sure your onsite SEO is well covered, and you can get indexed with a few inbound links in less than a week. I did an experiment recently, which showed me that a site can get indexed from two Stumbles only. Didn't even take a full week.
We recently launched a new site. It was remotely related to one of our existing sites, so we blogged about one of the new site's articles with one single link. That was all it took... Google indexed the site within days... and it even ranks for some of the articles already... Moral of the story. Get some inbound links... it is the fastest way to get noticed.
The vast majority of new sites that I put up are Wordpress blogs but I can tell you that between Technorati and other social bookmarking I am able to get indexed in hours in most cases if I make an original post. I you make a post and get it bookmarked, post an original article to EzineArticles AND do a press release I guarantee you will be indexed within a couple od days at most. Gregg
I may be a noob to the forum, but I am going to have to agree with Betias on this one. Not one programmer I know would write useless redundant code, and spiders are written by humans, why scan AND index something that was useless to them. Even using the big G as an example that seems to scan all in my Google set up sitemap, (they seen to set the standard, albeit gaining based on free tools and such) minor SE's wouldn't touch these tags unless it was important to them.
Over all my sites when i just start them up, i just submit to digg.com and my site usually appear within 24 hours Because digg is indexed like every minute once it links to your site yours does as well.
i agree with nevdull you must get links from heavily spidered pages i had my page indexed within 24 hours by doing this
a couple of ideas.. a. signture here b. you can use digg if you have a good notice or press c. Press your notice in different sites..
How come my sites in my sig have'nt been indexed? I've had them here for a while....what am i doing wrong?
I can help you ... To get indexed in Google, submit a sitemap to Google through Google webmaster tools. To get indexed in all the major SEs try linking to your site from your forum signature.
