My proven guide to get indexed and ranked well in Google and other major search engines. (Dont forget website content is crucial for maximum traffic) 1. First things first, you must choose relative keywords with many searches per month as your meta keywords and description. The key here is to choose keywords where there isn't alot of competition but alot of traffic. This is most easily done using the Adwords keyword tool here: https://adwords.google.com/o/Target...000&ideaRequestType=KEYWORD_IDEAS#search.none 2. Next, what alot of people don't know is that you can actually submit your site to Google for them to send spiders to crawl your site. You can submit your site to Google here: http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl 3. Manual SEO Submissions - I suggest searching google and finding a list of high pageranked directories and submit to say 15 a day. This takes about 20 minutes and can do wonders for the future of your site. This kind of indexing appears natural to search engines, which is what search engines like. 4. Automated Submissions - I suggest automated submissions for a large increase in backlinks just 1 time for your site. This I generally do right after I create the site, as it takes up to a month to index all the backlinks. Every site I market for a client/ Every site I make for personal use has been submitted to: http://www.automaticsubmissions.com/ . This is the cheapest option, for the most increase in Google rank. I generally average an extra 100-200 backlinks each website submsission according to : http://www.backlinkwatch.com/. 5. Blog comments - Blog comments are important for the indexing of your site, and can also help with increasing search engine rank. To find quality blogs to comment on, search your website topic or similar topic in google followed by the word "blog" and 99% of the time youll get a related topic blog thats not spammed with comments already. Go to the site and make it obvious that you are a human, and type some relative to the article your commenting on. I would do this naturally, similar to the manual submissions. - Remember keywords in your title tag and description are the most important, but its crucial to find low competition keywords when doing so, to rank higher, more easily. - Content is a MUST, to get visitors to return, your site must be easy to navigate and content should be interesting or fun while educational. These are my personal steps that have shown most effective (Never been huge into article writing though, but that can help a ton too), I suggest all these steps for all your new and old sites to rank as high as possible! Hope I helped a little! -Sean Carolan
I feel like the google xml sitemap generator helped my WP blog get indexed pretty fast. Also, pingomatic!
Well over time this can get a beginner very far on the internet.. Thank you sir! Agreed, both are great ideas. Thanks
k-state: You should not be submitting your sitemap to google webmasters tools for completely new websites. Because it reduces the probability of ranking higher. It is always advised to have google find out your website through some other websites [i.e. when someone backlink'ed your site]. Then wait for like a week , now you have the right time to submit your sitemap to webmaster's tools. I honestly did not find anything new or innovative in the posts, it just seems like sum of few threads in this category.
I have to give credit to the poster as the text in the post seems original, not a copy/paste from the net.
There's nothing wrong with a little refresher course on how to do some of the basic things that will benefit someones site. Thanks Sean for the info!
Very informative and educational post. Nice to see what methods you use to get indexed and ranked on Google engine search
The submitting link isnt really working for me. The SEO keyword competition only applies to the adwords user. However, i dun reject the idea as you can see roughly how many likes to use the same keyword.
The last part of your post is probably the most important part and I'm still surprised to see people not focusing more on the importance of keywords in your title tags and finding low competitive words for their niche. I've done various work for people who have superb websites and yet when I look at the competition v the monthly searches it just doesn't stack up! Mark
