How to get images into google search

I have thumbnails on my site. I use descriptive file names and alt tags. I do not get any traffic from the google image search.

I do have google image search turned on in webmaster tools.

Does anyone know if there are some restrictions or reasons why my images are not showing up?

 

sometimes it takes time.....I don't know what the image ranking criteria is

 

if time is a factor i should be fine... the site is over a year old. i get good organic traffic from google just not from google images

 

Maybe you should attach some keywords to your image files with Adobe Bridge before uploading?

 

what does that do? does it populate a metadata field? does google image look at this?
