hello everyone. it seems like my SERP position in yahoo hasn't changed. most of my keywords were not ranking in yahoo. what's the best way to make my keywords rank in yahoo?
IMHO, One of the keys to good Yahoo rankings is site-wide keyword optimization. In other words, the theme of your site. Yahoo seems to look at the site as whole moreso than other engines. The more pages on your site that are related to your keyword, the better. So, what to do? Try to incorporate your main keywords in as many titles, alt tags, meta tags, pages, etc across your site Interlink the pages well using your keywords in the anchor text - Adam
Although they don't place as much empasis as google, backlinks are important, especially from reputable sites
The way to rank high, is to be one of the first 10 good websites to come around. In time, when there are finally 100 or 1000 websites, all perfectly optimized, only 10 get to reach the top. I think it's dandy and a blessing for anyone that reaches the top 1 to 10 positions, but other than that, I realize it's more important to just design a good website. First goal > design a functional, beneficial site with good information. Because we can't all be number 1. And the other thing I'm realizing, if you have number 1, try not to loose it. I hold the top spot in Portland for my arborist trade. I may be in second or third for a couple of keywords, but with all dozen or so terms, we're at the apex. But I'm not in Portland anymore. Yet, I keep a page up for Portland and send work to another arborist with that page. In return, I get a kind of commission. So as other tree services are fighting thier way up, I just do a slight tweak here and there, and add a couple of more inbound links every month or so. But if the other 100 tree services without websites in Portland got sites, I don't care how good their web masters are, they would have to scratch and claw to get to about number 15 if everybody optimized all at once.
i haven't figured out how to rank well on yahoo and msn - so far wroked just throw a bunch of pages that linked together and see here and theere yahoo sends couple of visitors but never done good in it
The key is to take care for a fresh content and have a static core at the same time. Think about RSS, Y loves it.
Well, we have all static and on front post like latest 20 articles, which changes every day, but the traffic is 0-5 visits a day, while google and mns sends together 200
if you put ur keyrword in excess in title.meta tags, and on ur site and images, doesnt that include as spam?
You didn't specify your keywords (and there is no meta keywords tag on your site). However, a lot to improve at the first sight. Your dynamic core consist of anchors only, and that's pretty bad (short description of each one would be nice). Like I said before I don't know your keywords but take a look at the title and meta description. Except one ('articles') I can't see any other theme-content-targetted words or phrases. Another one: there is no rss channel... And finnaly: you don't have backlinks (about 220 on Y, 20 MSN). You've got a lot to do, both with on- and off-site aspects. Now just start workin' ;-)
I am always in favor of trying for building good content. Success in blogging takes time and good content is most important.
ask yahoo.com One factor that I recognize is high keyword density but dont make it look spammy.. I just checked my rankings in yahoo, 8 good keywords got no. 1 position Yahooooooo
In my experience, if your site has only a few pages and every page is essentially about the same keyword, and the pages are relatively small, then you will get a high ranking in Yahoo, but not in Google. If your site is rich in content, having a large number of pages covering a range of topics related generally to a specific theme (but not necessarily to a specific keyword), and you get some backlinks, you'll do well with Google (in time) but Yahoo will practically ignore you. The point is that you cannot generally do well with both Google and Yahoo at the same time. Has anyone seen this to be any different? What kind of site?
