    Bookmarking worked for me to get indexed within a couple hours. Digg and Propeller help a lot. Linkwheels are also great ways to gain PR.

    You can gain high PR by simply linking to other HIGH PR sites like PR 7, PR 8 and even PR 9 sites. They will make you go up up up faster :)

    Well there are heaps of things you can look at. I suggest start with a professional SEO analysis of your website (see the service on offer here : http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1721513 )

    Once you have your website sorted out and it is optimized, then you start with submissions to search engines, classifieds, web boards, blogs, directories and just about everywhere where u can drop a link BUT make sure the sites or categories where u drop the links are related,

    Just these things alone will help you get traffic and rank

    PR is a very small part of how you rank. But to increase your page rank, you'll need to get more links from high quality sites that are on topic. Random links from link farms or schemes won't help and might hurt. The PR you see in the bar is not your true PR.

    Concentrate on building a great a site that people will naturally want to link to for the content.
