    This is why the best backlinks are backlinks being cited by others naturally which Google is obviouisly going to be devising better ways to detect in on going way.

    Also, building only high pr links is suspicious to search engines so you have to build some low pr links too, it should look natural as well..

    Guest blogging works great. If you have a new site, getting a few high PR relevant backlinks from guest blogging will skyrocket your inital seo efforts. I've got a couple of PR 3-4 blogs if you want to write something relevant in exchange for a backlink, let me know :)

    I always love the natural way to rank a specific keyword. Buying links or blasting spammy links definitely the way to go if you want to get your site burnt.

    For me the most important thing is to get targeted traffic, so guest blogging is one method and you can get two birds with one stone this way ie you can get backlinks to your site and you can have visitors from the site you put your content into. The thing is that you need to find the right site with the same or related niche as yours or else the visitors coming from that site won't have as much value as they should.

    Build your own blog/site network! This is for those who have cash to spend. You can buy expired domains, rebuild the content from previous owner or make a new ones, and put links to your money site/pages from those newly built sites.
