As there seems to be a lot of questions and discussions about how to get sites ranked high and tips and tricks to do so, I thought I would add my few pennies worth. Basically, Google loves "expert" or "authority" sites. Sites that offer valuable, usable information, as opposed to those sites that just sell various products.....and other "stuff". Using their relevancy mantra, Google shows its affections by adorning these expert sites with high SE rankings and lower than average PPC AdWords keywords. So, as a guide, here are the five elements of site that Google is looking for to fall in love with: High Quality Content - Useful, relevant, unique Lots of it - Pages of the stuff Updated Content - Always adding and refining content Easy to navigate - Intuitive and simple to browse with useful links Status - Reputation gained through links from other quality sites So are you an authority in a particular field? What do you know that you can share that will add value to other peoples lives? And it doesn't have to be fancy or costly. Just a simple, but informative and relevant blog will suffice. It's the easiest and simplest way to get going.
Spot on. Content, content, content is the key. It won't get you gazillions of traffic over the next day or two, but over the long run it pays to have good quality, unique content. Proper titles, alt tags and descriptions for videos, pictures, flash and objects are also a must.
Hi, I agree that by having a lot of content in your website you are having a lot of keywords to attract Google to crawl for your content.
