I assume its self hosted wordpress blog.
First install the XML Sitemap generator plugin for wordpress and create a sitemap.
Second, go to Google Webmaster Tools and sumit/verify your blog. Then submit the created Sitemap and wait till it gets downloaded by Google.

    Hi,

In my own experiences, blog basing on wordpress itself would be really SEO friendly. While, keeping updating your blogs with niche relative original contents plus building quality back links to your new post would work both fine for indexing purpose.

    all the best,

Try to get backlinks from authority sites like EzineArticles(they are crawled frequently). And you can use PuSHPress plugin to get your new posts indexed quickly.

according to me just do some quality linking and relevant linking for your blog .... Quality links means links on high PR pages. Also just do directory submissions in relevant categories..

Submit the sitemap to Google. It takes time to get index on Google.

While this is an old thread that someone dug up, I felt like I should list a few ways for anybody else that's looking for an answer to a situation like this.

While you can use pinging services, you can also submit your website to Social bookmarkings such (Such as Digg, Mixx, etc), make a document with a few links to your blog and submit it to a website like Scribd that is usually crawled frequently by Google, or you can tweet a link to your website on a larger TWitter account, since google also likes to crawl that fairly often even though it's nofollow.

you can ping your site and wait for it to get indexed. Bookmarking and building backlinks can also increase your site's visibility in the search engines.

create a xml sitemap and then sign up for a google webmaster account
under your dashboard you will find the link 'sitemap' click on that and then
add your sitemaps link there, it will help google to crawl your site
    indexing will come after crawling...
