You may try ebay.com. Why not think of something that you may sell, post it on ebay and remember to include your site url into product's pictures.
Improve your backlinks If you get linked with other sites you may get traffic But google is the best for traffic if you are listed in google search
submit your site to reputable directories and to Google itself, you can even contact Google for this matter, as to why your site isn't indexed yet.
All search engines are getting closer to the same. They all look at titles, page content, headers, links, text in the anchor links, text on the pages that link to you, and probably other places. When you optimize correctly you don't shoot for Google only. You just build a good page. The results will take care of themself. If you build quality sites, the only way to get dropped is if G goes out of buisness, in that case everyone else will fade away too.
1) Build a better SE. Doesn't have to be better than Google, but if it can hold it's own, it will get direct traffic, without people searching for it. Advertise yourself for free on it. 2) Become the web equivalent of a household name. Sites such as Digg and Alexa don't rely on se traffic. 3) Build the type of site (or sites) that lend themselves to word of mouth (or chain emails, etc) advertising, and use them to funnel traffic to your main money maker. Be creative, think outside the box. -Michael
write articles, use social sites, paid avertising, target longer keywords that will keep you getting the search engine (se wont fail) traffic others do not want
Right now the only way is through social media (or of course tons and tons of links from everywhere.)
