Hi everyone, I did a search on google, and on this forum, and couldn't find anything that addresses this, but I'm sure it's out there somewhere. I just purchased an SSL certificate through my hosting company. And I want to set up a form where the gold lock shows on the URL bar to encrypt some information, which I see very often in ecommerce sites, etc. Just like you see in the image below: I'm using wordpress as my platform. So how do I get that lock to appear? Do I have to go through another service? Or do I create a sub-domain with https:// in the domain? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Larry
SSL uses a complex system of key exchanges between your browser and the server you are communicating with in order to encrypt the data before transmitting it across the web. A web page with an active SSL session is what we mean when we say a web page is "secure". The installation method will vary depending on your web server and the type of certificate you purchase. Specific installation instructions, resources, and support are typically offered by your certificate provider or your web host.
