I agree! You need to have a balanced approach of onsite and offsite SEM to get positive results. There are still a lot of blogs out there that reward good comments with a backlink to your site...have a look at http://www.dofollowtopsites.com/
I doubt what you are claiming here. Although backlinks have lost some weight they are still important. Can you provide proof of your statement or compelling arguments?
Not only onsite work, but if you have plenty of content, search engines will bring you free traffic. Wasting your time posting you link on every blog (even the nofollow ones) is just that, waste of time. About 70% of your time should be spent on improving/building your site, and the rest on promoting your site.
you will get more back link . directory , article directory, blog comment, link exchange thanks for sharing info.
Write quality and original content, keyword or phrase rich articles with links to your website in the resource box. Then build a website or web page with targeted keyword or phrase rich original content for the targeted traffic that originates from the articles you wrote. Finally, you will have a Google Adsense ads that are targeted to your keyword or phrase rich original content site where visitors will get to visit when they come looking for information. A win-win situation if you think more about it. A favor for persons looking for quality content and information. For the persons writing the original content articles. And the person with the quality original content rich website. Of course, the search engines and its advertisers are getting targeted traffic and sales but so what? As long as you are getting something in your favor, it does not really matter what the others are getting for themselves.
its beter to submit ur url to social bookmarking sites, even tho google doesnt consider this as a back link.
I have to agree that if you just spend time only on your own site, then you may find it tough. Sometimes, you should be trying to get backlinks from high PR sites. This is true for highly competitive markets. In less competitive markets, you should concentrate on your own site. However, if you concentrate on your own site for high competitive markets, you will find it tough to compete. It will take a long time to get results.
I think backlinks are the most important. Try to share as much you can your posts, through social bookmarking sites. Of course, link exchange through text links with a nice title helps a lot.
keyword and SEO is the best way to get free traffic..if your website is unique and optimize. you can get tons of traffic from search engines..
Directory submission is not bad its also effective for our site but you need focus on other things like blog, article, press release, forums, social bookmarking.
I say the fastest way to build links these days is using blog networks to submit your content, such as: Article Marketing Automation 1 way links Syndicate Kahuna PRO That usually brings in the links pretty fast, because they have quite a few blogs in their network.
I think that the best way to get free traffic is by forum posting, but when you are participating in a forum and other members respect you, then they try to look at your links, because they are interested in you :]
