How to get free traffic and backlinks

has anyone actually had any luck or has real evidence that using any social media drove traffic to their site?

According to me, the best method is "Blog Commenting" + "Forum Posting"
This works like charm and provides good link juice

 

i would tend to agree, blogs, articles, etc. I just don't see how putting a video up or new on a social site would work. Social sites seem to be quick info, updates, to your phone or whatever, not stay-a-while and look types of feeds. A better feed type would probably be rss. I am willing to be wrong, but just haven't heard anyone talk about great success with youtube or facebook type of advertising.

 

You should look at the quality of the backlink as well. This makes a difference.

 

Most of my traffic come from social bookmark site and google, not forget twitter

 

Oh i wish i could have a sure sort formula to get traffic... It is not at all easy for dummies and beginner..

 

And ya, for baclinks i think link exchange would be the best choice...

i can prove backlinks have no importance now a days if you are best in keywords seo

 

Now a days their is no value for reciprocal linking. So do avoid link exchange.

For me the best method to get back links is dofollow posting.

You just copied and pasted someone elses (in this thread) and then decided to remove link exchanges....why would you do that?

Backlinks should grow naturally. Blog comments, articles, linkwheel. Remember to get some backlinks for your articles. Ezine articles are very good for getting backlinks time and again if your article is worth copying.
