    Just a few ideas here:

    1. Signature Links
    2. Some directories allow deep links for free.
    3. Blog comments
    4. Attractive content that makes others want to link to that page ;)

I can offer you 3 deep links in our Submission Desk Directory provide you give us at least 1 PR2+ reciprocal link. The links must not look spammy though we are keeping our standards extremely high with this directory.

When they want, when they have time...
May be you will be old before to have been registered on dmoz:)
And the worse : You never receive any information about their decision.

How is that? You spend a few minutes and you can get a deep link from a content page with very few links on it instead of a directory of links. If your site is automotive based than it is also a relevant link.

Being that most directories do not do deep links, that leaves you with buying or trading neither are great options, or finding sites willing to link to you. Those links come one at a time, this is one place you can get one.

Article submission is a good and effective way to get related deep links...

You can also try forum post, blog comments, etc (they are less valubale though)

Know people from authority sites. They have high PR. In general once they place your link, other smaller site will link to you. Don't try to use a small stone to create a big ripple...just my 2cent

If they're for individual article pages, you can post unlimited, free, non-reciprocal deep links at www.FreeDeepLinks.com
