you really need to generate traffic. try and get a couple of your friends to be active as that will get the thread count higher and make your site seem better if there aren't any threads or activity on your site then it is meaningless to anyone who come aslong.
yes you need some posts before people will come and stay, get your friends involved, also try asking for posting exchange, where someone else starting a forum will post on yours in return for you posting on theirs. If you have money to spend you could employ a forum boosting service, thats how I did it, not sure if im allowed to recommend someone here but if you want the details of the company I used message me.
