How to get forum members to post more?

Offer something unique, then make the forum for that unique content that the visitor is searching for as "hidden until x/xx(0-15) post(s)".

Pretty simple. To get the content you need to post, but then again I would advise strict moderation as some may spam in this case.

 

I honestly don't see how that would work.

Try to offer something unique that other forums don't offer. Like post contest.

 

Here is what I do:

My forum is an official fansite for a popular MMORPG game. I give away "coins" on the game for posts. 2 coins for the first 10 posts, and 2 coins for each additional 100 posts. This method works for me & the game allows me to do this. However, the game would not allow any non-official fansite to do this. All I have to say is "work your niche"

 

Open a new and interesting threads every day.

i am trying to push a forum of my own too..but the front page is actually a blog..so it is okay

 

Beleive it or not. It works, done it before. Visitors usually come to your site for something, so if you oblige them to post for that something they will do due to curiosity, needs, etc. Just make sure about the spam part.

I run a forum, blog on same host site. I am from Indian. Its very hard for me. I don't know good communication and how to adjust with all over world's people. I just decide make do-follow forum for all so all marketer will post here and they get do-follow signature links also. I faced lot of problem but i decide to promote forum.
I am webmaster and I am new but DP is the best for me. I put all problem. they give suggestion. I impliment them.
Promotion of any web, blog and forums is very important so keep it up. make some announcement for highest poster will awads with price. post your forum on do follow blog, social bookmarking, directory and article submite them as possible as you can do. after couple of month your forum will famous and post will increase also.

 

Visit some of the top social bookmarking websites and see what is popular at the moment in your category.

Offer your view point on the story and ask for others opinions.

+ order a logo from some designer here at DP
+ pay for posting to get it going on.
