I would think a savy college student could start a blog from the edu server doing basic website reviews and maybe get a way with it that way .. But like was said it's not worth getting in trouble over..

it's tricky. but it seems to work. :p also search ".edu wordpress" then comment on their entries relevant to your site's contents. :)

Whatever happened to emailing the educational sites and asking if they would link to your site. I am sure they will if they find your site usefull to their institution and students.

if you are running a retail site, like most of the sites webmasters are making, i highly doubt college's are going to want to link to your site. they tend to not want to be associated with people selling items.

When they tell you no, then you join their forums or sign their guest books. ;)

My best bet would still be putting up a high quality website with relevant educational information. .edu websites are often administered by educators who are on the constant look-out for relevant contents that can help them with their work. I think textbook stuff/style works best because I've seen a couple of these sites with .edu linking to them. Get links from other relevant sites to get noticed and if the site deserves to be linked by the .edu sites, they will link it. If it's not good enough, no point trying too hard.

If anyone wants to PM me a blog post with backlinks included, I can happily publish it for you on my .edu blog in exchange for a link.

No porn, gambling, or pharmacy. Must be English. Must be 100% original content. 300+ words.

Edu and gov links are highly over valued in my opinion, too many spammers and black hatters that try to take advantage of them, Google is not stupid, SY

Is it possible to buy these links if they are appropriate, not spam in other words, I am working for some insurance agencies that offer important addon services to help people for instance in the case of contractor liens, so they are not ripped off and made to pay twice, which can and does happen in some cases.
