I got this trick from a SEO guru. the answer is very simple, try searching for forums/messages board on .edu sites! you will find a lot of them! use a signature! this will give you quality backlinks from .edu links! you won't even known how much value they got!
I don't think so ... many forums use diferents signatures/etc... just try to find edu domain names with message board/guest books allowing you to also post your website (or to post messages using your signature) PHPboard isn't the onyl forum in the world, by the way D haha
go to google and make a search for: inurl:*.edu inurl:forum it will list all sites with file name forum in a .edu domain name.. then u can try other filters...
http://www.rc.edu/alumni/alumni_gb_entry.php?activeMenu=3 just type in .edu/guestbook and hundreds come up
Hi, I know the importance of have backlinks but could someone explain what is the value of .edu links? And has anyone tried this? And if so, what do you think were the results? Your advice is appreciated. Regards, Sunshine
.edu/.gov/.mil backlinks are 100 +++ more goods then .com backlinks, because they are all on trust-worthy domain names.
The spam is disgusting... makes me sick seeing all the porn sites etc. doing this crap. Sucks even worse that people are advocating guestbook spamming... See what I mean?
And with is conclusion ? Are those backlinks from guestbooks count or not and are they really valuable?
I have a "relevant" PR6 backlink from an Ivy League .edu site. It sends me a modest amount of traffic (about 120 visitors per month) from just that one free link. It may be my best link. I would value highly every .edu link you can lay your hands on.
I'm going to create a "presell" type page on my (non-existant) .edu homepage and see if it does any good. I'm doubtful that I'll see any difference, but I'll give it a go.
