how to get data back

    My lappy's D drive is not working.

    I have very important data on this drive.

    Please tell me how to get data back?

    It still baffles me as to why people don't backup their data. Even if it's just onto a $10 USB stick.

    > Try reading it from a live Linux CD/DVD. If you can see your data, back it up immediately.
    > Make sure it's not the connection, pull your drive out and try it in another computer
    > Try chkdsk
    > Try SpinRite

    try addressing method in your os like: "C:/" you will get data back and copy it into other storage devices
