You must have done something more... or someone on your network went on a clicking spree.... Have you asked for a reason?

I hope you're right Homer. Just now I was submitting to some directories, and copying text from my page to put into the description field - DAMN! -Accidently clicked an add while selecting text to copy. I emailed google immediately and reported the accident.

Please google - don't hurt me!

You'll probably be OK, especially if you have an AW account ;)

No - I don't have an adwords account. Though I did just check my adsense account and it shows zero revenue for the bad click.

Critter - not sure what program you are asking about...

I'm confident that you are still OK, if you emailed them about the one click right away. I'm not trying to alarm you or anything. I just have a hunch that they are more lenient with accidental clicks if the account holder has both an AW and AS account. Just a guess on my part. I don't work for G so it's just conjecture.

That's good to know. Guess I can stop beating myself now.

On a different note - one wonders why Google won't let you click with impunity if your IP address doesn't impact click revenue ? It would be great to be able to pull up your own page and not be paranoid about making an accidental click.

That is a pretty clear indicator right there that it was more than one click. They used the word clicks and not click, indicating to me that it was more than one.

Now, I am sure many will say semantics but even though this is a auto-responder (or at least a signature picker) the fact they used the word clicks cannot be overlooked.

Just cos it says "clicks" does not mean it is click(s) it will be a standard email they send out to people who ask "why have I been banned"

I like to think that if you are earning lots of $$$, and your site is sticking to the rules in the TOS, it is not in their interest to close your account.

I would imagine that a site with earnings over $200 a day would have to go on a massive self-clicking rampage to get noticed, and even then would get a warning.

So thats another good reason to get working on your sites, get those visitors and CTR's up :)

    That's good advice.

Take the time to create unique, well optimized content while at the same time work on getting backlinks and, with some patience, the traffic and the revenue will come. No doubt.

I personally think that a lot of people are getting banned because they simply don't want to take the time to follow the methodology I've just described. And what's funny is that they think that they can outsmart the G engineers and end up making lots of easy money by cheating. It's probably young folks who are making those kinds of mistakes; 15 years ago I probably would have made the same mistakes (to be perfectly honest.) That's why, as others in the forum have suggested in the past, I think it's a good idea to have some sort of age requirement for AS.

    As always, IMO.

You are making an assumption that Google does not follow proper grammar. I believe a company of that size does. To me, it says more than one click. I am certain that you clicked your ads more than once or something suspicious happened.

You can argue here until you are blue in the face, only you know what really happened, but based on the knowledge of thousands of people who post here and around other forums involving adsense, you are the first to be banned for a single click (that I remember reading...)

Once you get banned there isn;t much you can do about it. You could open up an llc and re apply with a new site, but you have to be careful not to log into your adsense screen from the same computer as the banned account. Go to a library and login and submit a brandnew site.
