Buying links? That is a moron act in SEO. better hire a specialist than to buy a link. Gaining quality links takes time. So patiently wait.

 

I normally just keep a list of blogs with the top commentator widget and subscibe to them. Then I post enough time to stay on the widget.

As the name next to my pic indicates, I'm a newbie and a peon in the IM world. However, I am trying something without a website, to see if I can start making a few dollars. I've picked out a product to promote and have started writing articles around keywords related to the product. I leave a link to the site in my signature/resource box. So far, with two articles, I am on page one of google for both for diferent keywords. As I'm following this thread I see that there are a number of ways to get backlinks. My question is this: In this case, am I treating my articles like a website and trying to get backlinks to the article itself? Follow up question: Do i do this continually to try and keep my articles up on page one? Backlinks are still something that I don't know if I fully understand.
