How to get back?

I had a website which I got on the first page of some keywords with a high volume. But I tried to jump to the first position by changing my website title. After changing it about 4 times, I found myself wiped off for every single keyword. I've kept the title the same for a while, but its not looking any better. Is there a way to have google "forgive" me? How much work would something like that take?

just revert back to your original title and if that was all you changed it should go back to normal... unless some of your competition have done some seo and increased their rank too

Unless you have some competition you should be back pretty soon.

Do whatever u did in the beginning all over again. That should give you a head start.

I also had this problem, I was on Google 1st page for a specific keyword, but I wanted to be first, and I changed all kind of things, hoping to hit the nr.1 position, but instead I've lost all my rankings. Very strange, but I've got some rankings in MSN and Yahoo ...

Me too actually. My yahoo and MSN rankings are still strong, Yahoo the most. But I bet first page on google wouldve brought me several times more traffic. Oh well, I guess I can't rely completely on another company, specially Google.

    Revert your original title.
Build some powerful backlinks from authority sites from your niche and wait.
