i have a domain name mcl-gases.com, i forgot to renew it one month passed and now its not possible to renew it, i registered it with netfirms.com which registrar is tucows. in control panel there is no link to renew it, amazing thing is that i can,t even register i. i thought its deleted from old registrar and available to register again. but its not so, how much time it take to delete a expired domain from its registrar.

any one have any helpful suggestion for me how i can get my domain back.

The redemption period is a Domain Registry period of up to 30 days that occurs when a domain name is deleted after having expired unrenewed. Instead of just getting deleted and returning to the pool of domain names available for registration, the existing registry keeps a hold on the domain name in a what is technically called as REDEMPTION PERIOD. During this 30-day redemption period, the original domain registrant (owner of the domain) is allowed to retrieve the domain name from deletion by contacting their Registrar. This process may costs an additional fee.

I had one domain last week in this period. The domain was with Namecheap.com.

I simply contacted their support and they renewed the domain. They did not ask any additional fees - only the renewal fee of about $10.

Because it was renewed on time. If it fell under redemption period like the OP's case, it would've cost more.

Contact support at net firms. They should be able to help you if not you may have to wait until it's available again. There's a redemption period of usually 30 days with most domain registrars. You may have missed this window. In which case you can contact the registrar to find out how long after the redemption period they release domains for re-registration. Good luck and all the best to you.

If you want to keep the domain, I would pay it. Otherwise you will be bidding against other people in the aftermarket.

when a domain is in redemption period then you need to buy at a higher price, last month when one of my domain got into redemption period then I had to purchase that domain at $60.

I'm confused. The domain name's not in redemption period:

    http://iwhois.com/index.php?domain=mcl-gases.com&tld=com&lookup=Lookup&submitbutton=Lookup

The expiration date is May 16, not February. Unless it's some other domain?

Anyway, you either pay the higher fee to redeem the domain name, or wait until it
becomes available again. Use that ICANN link I previously posted.

Moving forward, stay on top of your domain registrations so this won't happen.
