    Hey,

been doing Adwords for quite a while now but never ran into Trademark problems. So right now I'm kinda idea less.....

How do I get around trademarked words like Apple, Microsoft etc. when I still want to place my ads around those keywords??

    Thanks for the help fellas!

Your Ad maybe be limited for a day or two until Google can verify it. You will most likely be 'Approved (Limited)' which is ok. Your ad will then start to show but you may be limited in the area of which the ad is displayed. I'm fairly new to Adwords but that's my understanding of it.

So far it tells me that the ad won't show due to trademark violations....I'm using a fairly big company. Maybe is it legit to put the TM behind it?

Thanks for the answers so far....it's kicking my butt right now...

Try TMing only if you have no other KW option.

You can display ads on trademark keywords but you cant use the trademark in the ad itself.

Use - trademark name in display URL and not in the ad copy

Yeah it's allowed but the brand owners monitor it and open up cases if they don't like what you use.

You are more than welcome to use trademarks on your ad copy...for the moment! There is quite a big case going on - Rosetta Stone vs Google. RS lost in their first round of courts, but have now appealed to a U.S appellate court. A strange move since an appellate court has never issued a ruling on trademarked keywords. Nonetheless, Rosetta Stone think they have a case, and should they have, the goalposts may be moved once again. Nonetheless you're OK for now :)

Any update on situation from OP? I've run into the same problems and am wondering if you were able to find a fix.
    Thanks!
