I've recently created 11000+ static pages for my site, whats the best way of getting them indexed? I've submitted a google sitemap, the spiders have started to crawl (i've seen them on some pages but i dont think they've visited every page) MSN and Yahoo have indexed some pages but Google has yet to index any of them. The list of pages with links to each individual page can be found: http://www.buyingfirsttime.co.uk/sitemap2.php & http://www.buyingfirsttime.co.uk/sitemap.php and the pages with all the links on look like this one: http://www.buyingfirsttime.co.uk/pages/IndexPage93.html Any ideas, or do i just need to be patient?
So theres nothing wrong with the way i've done the link pages? Obviously users find the pages using a search function.
Be carfeful trying to get 11k pages indexed all at once. You may set off a flag on google & you'll rank low in the SERPs. Your AdSense income will suffer too as Google will give you less per click If they think you used automated software to try to rank. Be careful.
I don't really see anything i can do to limit the pages that get indexed other than to remove some of the links! The data was already on my site(just not on static pages), the content is unique so it would be very harsh for Google to penalise me for that. To be honest i get more traffic through MSN and Yahoo anyway so they can't really penalise me that much! I can't see how they can lower my adsense PPC, surely thats set by the advertiser?
Still not much progress I've had a few extra pages indexed and the Google bot visited 20000 times during May! Interesting MSN indexed the previous pages that i mentioned in this thread, so i'll chuck a couple more in....... http://www.buyingfirsttime.co.uk/pages/IndexPage101.html http://www.buyingfirsttime.co.uk/pages/IndexPage102.html http://www.scotlandestateagent.info
Well i noticed the links on the links pages were displaying like: href= http://www.buyingfirsttime.co.uk/pages/IndexPage125.html i've now removed the space, so although the links were working perhaps google could'nt read them. Lets see if that makes a difference...........
Every site is different, but Google seems to be very slow at indexing new sites these days. I dont like the sound of uploading 11,000 pages at once, but if you want to improve your chances of being indexed properly then your best bet is to focus on getting solid one way links from authority sites. If you can get some one way links from such sites then this SHOULD greatly increase your chances. be aware that google is having a few problems at the moment.
Yeah, it seems as if All Things Google have been somewhat chaotic since the 'Big Daddy' update. Hopefully calm will be restored in the not-too-distant future. Sam
