Another way is to use an Alexa redirect. Everywhere you link to your site, signatures, blog comments etc. Change your URL from www.mysite.com to http://redirect.alexa.com/redirect?www.mysite.com That way, all clicks will be directed through Alexa and your rank will improve. A plus on this is that users don't have to have the toolbar installed.
Interesting opinions and facts regarding the toolbar. Some stuff I hadn't previously considered. hmmmmm
That is surely a useful tip but it may dissuade users at the very start when they see a link like that. Most normal users may think it is Alexa's way of collecting their info. (I know its paranoia but that's the way the average surfer thinks)
Visitors with alexa toolbars installed on their browsers need to visit your site. Alexa is useless. Don't bother trying to build on it
show off to who? any webmaster worth his salts know the score with alexa rank. its totally irellavent data collection. most if not all alexa users are either webmasters of from asia, two groups that 99% of webmasters here dont target. its just another widget
Dude, chill. I just meant it as a joke. I know equally well that Alexa is shite and doesn't mean a thing but nevertheless Alexa's a huge company that DOES grant a rank and hey, if your ranked good, then isn't it better than being ranked low? If ALexa doesn't matter a bit then why does this thread have near 350 replies?
