How to get Affiliates

I have the product DomainSellingManual.com listed on clickbank. It has been there for about 6 weeks and I have had some minimal success.

I have had one affiliate take hold of it and email it out to his list and generated about 26 sales. (not sure how big the list was but he generated around 1000 hops so he got 2.6% conversion with one return).

The problem I am now faced with is that I need more affiliates. And I am not talking about ppc affiliates although they are welcomed. I am looking at a way to reach 100s of list owning affiliates.

This product falls into the "make money on the net" category but is completely unique in its approach. I sold over 300 copies of this on ebay prior to listing it on clickbank with 100% positive feedback.

    I will accept any suggestions.

I'm in the same boat. I've been selling directly with a website and through eBay for about a year, and signed up with CB to see if I could increase sales. I average 5-10 sales a day and was hoping to double that with CB, but I don't know how to attract affiliates.

So far, I've tried to post 'Looking for Affiliates' messages on a few forums but the threads have been removed.

Not only that, but the few responses I actually got were just other people trying to sell me their 'How to recruit affiliates' books.

I'd be interested in knowing what you come up with. Keep me informed, and I'll do the same.

In the beginning you need to contact affiliates directly because no one is going to find your product on CB with a low gravity. Just send them emails and explain your product and as soon as a few jump on your gravity will increase getting new affiliates from CB marketplace.

How do I find which affiliates sell my kind of product, or find affiliates in general? All I can find through the CB marketplace is the list of product pitch pages.

Do a search in Google related to your product, find relevant websites, contact the owners of those websites, send them an email detailing the benefits of being an affiliate for your product. If it's a decent product with a payout that makes it worth promoting you'll find some interested people.

Also give them incentives or bonuses on why they should promote yours over the other product they are promoting and they'll likely switch.

Yeah I have read the last affiliate secret and I hope it is also his last book. Useless to anyone who has more than basic knowledge.

Use what you have in front of you: DP! A lot of authors promote their products here in hopes of gaining affiliates. State who you are, what your product is about, and why you think it would be a good sell. I haven't looked at your product, but the best selling products pay 60% or more. Also, be honest with people here. I have seen too many threads that start like this:

"I am not the owner of this product, but I am getting a ctr of 10-15%. Someone tell me how that is happening! Here is the product: blahblahblah.com"

It becomes very apparent what the author is trying to do here. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. I pay 55% on my product. I was honest in post and I agree with you about those that think they can fool posters with overused tactics.

I started this thread for 2 reasons
    1. in hopes to pick up affiliates ( I have 2 owners of 10,000+ lists so far who have agreed to promote due to this thread)
    2. in hopes someone can give me some REAL insight on how to get affiliates attracted to my product

So what's the point in being part of a network like clickbank when affiliates note some problems (an extreme downward trend in sales since a recent technical update) and when it's so difficult get noticed by affiliates when you are a new publisher with a new product?

just a guess here but I think the downward trend they are seeing is due to how they have their links set up. If they have them going directly to payment pages, then they will not get credit for sale.

As for the new publisher, it is difficult at the beginning but I do have people selling my book. Without clickbank I would not have that. I made my fee back the first day I published it. Plus if you do get your product to get noticed, you have 100,000 affiliates at your disposal. all you need is to have 50 - 60 dedicated affiliates. If each only got 2 sales per week that is still 15 sales per day which adds up quickly.

Yep! But the problem is to get your product noticed by those 50-60 dedicated affiliates who are not so newbie
