First you need to offer commission for your affiliate, the best way to go is register your website with clicbank or paydotcom

I am a web developer and I offer custom sites and programming - all custom.
I would offer 10% and I don't offer cheap stuff - I offer custom programs -- where would I get affiliates for this?
If there is anyone reading this that would be interested in being an affiliate please let me know and I will give you an affiliate code link to my site.

You might want to consider joining an affiliate network, I've heard shareasale is very good. They will give you credibility and access to all the major players in your industry. If you have the capability to do an in-house program make sure your program is affiliate friendly and that tracking issues will not be a problem. Try finding affiliates by researching your competitors too.

While joining a network such as Shareasale or CJ is the primary step, I would also advise you to study the competitors using these affiliate networks. Your commission should be on par with what your competitors are offering. Otherwise, most of the webmasters are not going to sign up with you. :)

It is easy to get affiliate, the most important thing is how to promote them.

I had an affiliate program once. I feel the best thing you can do from the start is have a solid business foundation. People don't want a fly by night business that will be gone after a few months. Another thing is to create a niche for yourself. You don't want to sell everything to everyone. You want to be an authority for what you do or provide. How will your business be different from others? Is it quality, price, etc? How many products will you offer, etc?

So to answer your question about how to get affiliates to your business?

Recruit like hell! One day you will have a few and before you know it, it will be thousands. Don't assume affiliates will stick with you because they will set up shop and move on unless you have a service or products that are good for the customer and ultimately good for the affiliate.

Communication is key! You need to talk with them constantly and give them updates and tips on how to promote your product or service. Another HUGE factor is pay. Pay your affiliates on time. Don't screw them because they will go to forums and put your program down. My problem was a niche that was too small for the affiliates to make money from.

One good factor about what you want to start is good because you have so many people designing and so many people in need of quality website designs!
    Good supply and demand.

I used shareasale. Hope this helps!:D
